Introduction
The logic for how multiple choice questions appear on the report is tricky to understand. We aim to make that process more readable with this article. Also, please understand that this logic is implemented following SLCP business rules and there is little flexibility to change it.
We have used wb-wag-68 and wb-wag-69 for this example, but it will work for any multiple choice question that follows the pattern:
1. YES/NO question that asks if something is not according to legal requirements (wb-wag-68).
2. Choosing the NC answer (in this case YES) will generate a follow up multiple choice question. Each of the options may have a legal guidance and NC condition, therefore the NC will be reported at an option level.
Steps
- On wb-wag-68, choose Yes and submit. The platform will display wb-wag-69, choose any option, for example Maternity leave, and submit.
If you were to generate a report now, it will display Maternity Leave as NC (ie. orange box in Non compliance section), with the provided comment as finding. In order to learn more about reporting generation logic, check this article - On the report page, NC tab, find maternity leave. Open it
- Update to No evidence. You must provide a comment for it to appear on the report in Additional Information
- Make sure there is no comment for the other No evidence items for wb-wag-68: Personal leave, paternity leave, sick leave, etc. This is required if you want to hide them from the report. You might need to remove them one by one from the No Evidence tab.
- The report will display maternity leave in additional information section, with the provided comment
Caveats
Options with no legal guidance or NC condition (for example, Paternity Leave for Bangladesh, which is not mandated) will never appear neither on the Non-Compliance nor the Additional Information sections of report. If you think this is a mistake you should contact BW staff directly, as we do not have control over business rules.
However, these fact gathering questions will appear in the Factory Visit section, as they reflect standards agnostic data (they just want to know the actual situation, not whether it is in line with the law).
